Harlem Center for Education has had many accomplishments in its forty-five year history. A few of them are listed below:
- Assisted participants to gain admission to over 185 different colleges and universities across the country
- Averaged a college placement rate of 80% or more over the years
- Provided services to over 45,000 individuals over our 55-year history
- Successfully competed for and received federal TRIO programs funding for 49 years
- Received a Community Technology Center grant in 1999
- Added an Educational Opportunity Center program in 2002
- The college enrollment rates and persistence of HCE participants in college have exceeded national and NY State rates each year as tracked from the Class of 1999 to present.
- Had three scholarship winners of the COE STEM Scholarships for college in 2009
- Received three state grants: Workforce Initiative, Adult Basic Literacy and Advantage After School grants during the 2011 – present period
- Had 6 Gates Millennium Scholars in 2013
